The Objective

The Objectives of the Conference

This conference is a culmination of  broad issues on Borneo, i.e. conservational issues, scientific findings, action research, and discussion forum. This benefits  Borneo’s stakeholders, the people in general:

  • To promote scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;
  • To enable the research community, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;
  • To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;
  • To coordinate the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;
  • To disseminate rapidly the initial results of research activity;
  • To inform the interested public about research in Borneo.

The Scopes of the Conference

This will be a multidisciplinary Conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels.  Some of the session themes will be:
