Agriculture and Agricultural Technology will culminate in the food supply that is affordable, decent, safe and contains enough nutritional value for the community. This is an essence of Food and Agriculture. Aside from its main function, the art of delivering food and landscape of agricultural fields have attracted tourists to visit the region. Align with an effort to reshape East Kalimantan as a new icon of Indonesia’s international tourism destination, it is necessary to prepare supporting tourism facilities, therefore creating an extended value of Food, Agriculture and Culinary.
Agendas can be collaborated between business and government through different channels of East Kalimantan institutions, the Department of Agricultural Technology (THP) Mulawarman University (Unmul), and the Association of Indonesian Food Technologists East Kalimantan chapter. Through excellent research on food, agriculture, and culinary, we would like to play a part in this agenda by running the first “International Conference on Food, Agriculture, and Culinary Tourism” that is scheduled on 4-6 August 2015.
There will be sections in the conference:
1. Food Section, including recent advancement in Food Security, Functional Foods, and Food Technology.
2. Processing and Production of Agricultural Products Section
4. Processing and Production of Animal Products Section
5. Processing and Production of Fishery Products Section
6. Culinary Section: Practice, Promotion, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practises.
Selected proceedings will be compiled, further reviewed, and published as a special issue in a Scopus indexed journal. Also, articles are welcome for International Journal of Tropical Natural Sciences December 2015 edition (in english) and Jurnal Teknologi Pertanian Unmul (in bahasa).
